Recently, the 2026 Yongfu Caring Education Fund and Quality & Efficiency Improvement Special Fund Awards Ceremony was held in Xiuzhuan Town, Zhao’an County, Fujian Province.
The ceremony was attended by Wu Yinghong, member of the Standing Committee of the Zhao’an County Party Committee and head of the Publicity Department; Wang Huimin, deputy county governor; Wu Yimin, vice chairman of the Zhao’an County Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Shen Yunbo, Party secretary of Xiuzhuan Town; Zhong Huasheng, mayor of Xiuzhuan Town; and Li Yongfu, chairman of Zhuhai Kortrong Group and founder of the Yongfu Caring Education Fund, among others.
The ceremony recognized outstanding teachers and students from primary and middle schools across the town. A total of 16 awards were presented, including the Most Improved Student Award, Outstanding Student Award, Outstanding Teacher Award, and Outstanding Principal Award, with more than RMB 820,000 awarded in total.
Since spring 2020, when Li Yongfu and his wife established the Yongfu Caring Education Fund, the initiative has grown from its initial focus on recognizing academic excellence and supporting students in need to covering a broader range of awards and beneficiaries. Over the past seven years, it has invested more than RMB 4 million in awards for teachers and students, becoming a sustained source of support for education in the local community.
In their remarks, Wu Yinghong and Wang Huimin spoke highly of the progress made by schools in Xiuzhuan in recent years. They noted that this year, Xiuzhuan Town ranked among the top in Zhao’an County in both the comprehensive score for the physical education component of the high school entrance examination and the overall comprehensive score. They also expressed their appreciation to Li Yongfu and the fund for their long-standing support of education in his hometown.
In his speech, Li Yongfu reflected on the seven-year journey of the fund. He recognized that Xiuzhuan Middle School had achieved its best results in its 67-year history, while also acknowledging the weaker foundation and uneven development among primary schools.
He stressed that education should not only nurture top students, but raise the standard for every student. This approach is closely aligned with ongoing efforts to strengthen the foundations of basic education and ensure that necessary small rural schools continue to receive support.
He proposed shifting the fund’s focus further toward the grassroots, with greater attention to early childhood education and the lower primary grades. Through benchmarking visits and study programs, more standardized management of donated funds, and the development of village-level education funds, the initiative aims to move from supporting a small number of outstanding students toward creating opportunities for every student to thrive.
He encouraged teachers to remain committed to their communities in the mountain areas and to teach with care and dedication. He also encouraged students to study hard, stay connected to their hometown, and one day give back to the community.
From rewarding excellence to raising standards, from supporting a few to reaching all, Li Yongfu’s philanthropic efforts have continued to follow the real needs of education in his hometown.

With 1.5 MW of solar PV and a 3.579 MWh energy storage system working together, the park generates approximately 1.6 GWh of renewable electricity each year and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by around 1,000 tonnes annually.
Kortrong is now responding to China’s efforts to develop zero-carbon industrial parks and is working to extend this model to more industrial parks. At the same time, its manufacturing bases are advancing waste reduction and lowering emissions per unit of output, embedding sustainability across the entire manufacturing process.
