Kortrong’s 130kW PCS Has Passed UK G99 Grid Certification

Recently, Kortrong's 130kW power conversion system (PCS) has passed the UK G99 grid compliance certification. Following the German VDE-AR-N 4105 certification obtained late last year, this new certificate fills a critical gap in Kortrong's compliance portfolio for high‑value markets – another "technical passport" for the company's global expansion.

01 Advancing Grid Compliance: One More Step into High‑Value Markets

Renewable penetration in high‑value markets such as the UK and Germany has reached a critical threshold. Natural grid inertia is being significantly reduced, while frequency and voltage stability margins have narrowed sharply. The market urgently needs grid‑forming energy storage systems that can actively build voltage and deliver instantaneous inertia response.

G99 is recognised as one of the world's most stringent grid connection standards. What sets it apart is that it requires storage systems to shift from "self‑protection" to "active support", imposing much higher technical demands on control accuracy, response speed and grid adaptability. When the grid fluctuates severely, the storage system must remain connected for at least 140 ms without tripping, while dynamically injecting reactive current to help the grid recover. When the frequency rises to 50.5 Hz or experiences a sharp step change, the system must linearly reduce output power from 100% to 40% within 2 seconds.

Having passed the German VDE-AR-N 4105 standard late last year, Kortrong has now obtained the UK G99 certification from TÜV NORD. This dual certification serves as a "grid‑connection capability credential" for high‑value markets.

02 Full‑Chain Self‑Development: From Dual Certification to Multi‑Market Acceleration

The value of dual certification extends beyond the UK and German markets.

The testing logics of G99 and VDE-AR-N 4105 are highly aligned. To enter new markets, the underlying grid‑forming capability of Kortrong's self‑developed PCS has already been proven. Only control‑level parameter fine‑tuning is needed for precise adaptation. This capability shortens not only the certification cycle but also the time‑to‑market window.

Leveraging its in‑house R&D system, Kortrong's vertical integration from cells, BMS, PCS to EMS enables high system‑level synergy, ensuring stable performance in response efficiency and power quality.

Additionally, Kortrong's core product portfolio has fully passed international certifications including CB, CE and UN38.3, covering intrinsic safety, electromagnetic compatibility and global transport compliance. Together, grid connection capability and basic market access create a complete compliance pathway from "equipment qualified" to "grid admissible".

03 C&I Microgrid Solutions: Delivering Technical Credentials in Global Applications

The 125kW/261kWh Liquid-Cooled and Immersion-Cooled All-in-One Hybrid ESS units, powered by Kortrong's self‑developed 130kW PCS, are now ready for global delivery and are already being deployed in various overseas C&I microgrid applications.

In markets such as Denmark, Sweden and Germany, Kortrong has supplied solutions based on both Liquid-Cooled (cold‑plate) and Immersion Liquid Cooling technology routes. By participating in frequency regulation and other ancillary service markets, as well as peak‑valley arbitrage, these systems help balance the grid while maximising the revenue of storage assets.

From technical validation to project delivery, Kortrong's grid‑forming technology serves as the foundation, with dual certifications as its cornerstone. Its multi‑energy complementary solutions are now accelerating globally.
